I lost credits because the AI produced an error. Can I get them back?
Credits are consumed when prompts are processed, even if the result isn't what you expected. However, the Try-to-fix button does not deduct any credits, so use that for errors. For refunds on credits already spent, please refer to Lovable's Terms of Service for our refund policy. For support with a specific refund request, please contact our team via Help & Support. Tips to avoid losing credits to errors: Use the Try to Fix button first (free, no credits deducted). If that fails, ask the AI to investigate the issue. If still stuck, revert to an older working version. More info: FAQ and Troubleshooting.
The AI used credits but nothing changed in my project.
If the AI used credits but nothing visibly changed in your project, here are a few things to try: Revert and retry — Use the version history to revert to a previous version and try a different, more specific prompt. Nothing gets lost; all changes stay in chat and can be reapplied. Check the message cost — Click the three dots beneath the message to see how many credits it used. Some complex prompts may consume credits even if the result isn't what you expected. Refine your prompt — Be more specific about what you want changed. Clearer prompts tend to produce better results. Credits are consumed based on message complexity, and unfortunately there are no refunds for messages that don't produce the desired outcome. If you believe there's a bug, contact support@lovable.dev.
